The native Rhododendron bushes are gorgeous this year! All of our flowers seem to be prettier, maybe because of the very harsh winter that we had?  So come on up and see nature’s show.

In this month’s newsletter, we would like to highlight some of the cultural events in the Highlands area. The Highlands Playhouse is celebrating its 72nd season this year. Sylvia opens July 8th -July 18th; The Andrew Brothers, July 22nd -August 8th; Lettice & Lovage,

August 12th – August 22nd.

High on a mountain plateau, The Bascom art center provides audiences of all ages with stimulating, diverse exhibitions, studio art instruction and other cultural experiences. We know that the economy is depressing right now, but go ahead and take a short drive up to Highlands, NC and get away from everyday life and the summer heat. We are not far from Atlanta and many other cities in the southeast so you can still take that vacation you need and crave or just take a couple of days break and not spend as much as you would by flying or driving greater distances.  

 

Highlands is a “different world” but not as far.
